Brandi Elkins handles membership infrastructure and development, technical assistance, and along with many other important daily Together SC activities. Brandi is a graduate from the College of Charleston where she earned her Bachelors degree in Arts Management. She is a Lowcountry native with over 14 years of successful experiences in running nonprofit organizations as an independent consultant, as a CFO, and even as an Executive Director. Brandi is an active advocate in the Lowcountry arts and theatre scene having served as Board Treasurer for the League of Charleston Theatres, a member of the Charleston Marathon’s YEA Grant Program Review Committee, and as a fiscal agent for the inaugural year of Engaging Creative Minds in the Charleston County School District. Brandi is known for being a positive & strong leader who is compassionate, unflappable, & fun.
Brandi resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband, Eric, daughter, Evelyn, and two German Shorthaired Pointers (Mosby and Ruger). She enjoys spoiling her family with home-cooked meals and is always looking for a new recipe to try. Brandi also enjoys spending time with family, laughing with friends, attending local farmers markets, and living life to its fullest.
Shayne provides high-level administrative support to Together SC’s staff, Board of Directors, committees, members, and associates, and handles much of the behind-the-scenes, day-to-day operations and other vital tasks.
Shayne’s awareness of the gap between personal and governmental resources is why she has dedicated more than fifteen years of her life to nonprofits. She has experience much joy from helping others identify pathways to achieve their own personal success. She has been pleased to offer operational, instructional, organizational, training, and administrative support to the nonprofit sector.
Shayne has enjoyed the privilege of offering dance education to underserved populations for the past seven years. These talented dancers have been invited to perform for special programs, esteemed dignitaries, while the competition dance team has earned countless awards and accolades traveling throughout the southeast.
Shayne serves as PAC representative for a local elementary school and is a licensed Notary Public for the state of South Carolina. She was educated at Columbia College where she earned both her bachelor’s degree and master’s in Organizational Leadership. Go Koalas!
Ben directs the day-to-day operations of the organization: finance, HR, vendor relationships, special projects. Are you a vendor or business partner who'd like to offer discounts on goods and services to Together SC's nonprofit members? Call Ben!
Ben graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2012, earning his bachelor's degree, masters in social work and masters in public administration. He studied nonprofit organizations extensively and was excited to leave the ivory tower and gain real-world experience with Together SC. He is a board member of Camp T.A.L.K. (Teaching Advocacy and Life-skills to Kids), a nonprofit a summer day-camp for children with autism, that he helped to incorporate and gain 501(c)(3) status. He is an active member at Reformation Lutheran Church, where he sings bass-baritone in choir. Ben lives in Columbia with his partner Jeremy.
Madeleine has served South Carolina’s nonprofit community for more than 30 years. She’s led start-ups like the downtown revitalization program in Georgetown, SC, as well as established nonprofits like Coastal Community Foundation of SC that she ran for 10 years.
Debbie assumed responsibility for Together SC’s Knowledge Network in 2015. In this consulting role she manages a variety of resources and learning experiences for Together SC’s membership. She coordinates Wednesday Webinars, develops new training offerings and resources, identifies and establishes training partnerships with funders, and collaborates with consultants and business partners.
Debbie is delighted to bring more than 30 years of professional experience and her understanding of nonprofits and their training needs to Together SC’s members. A 25-year resident of Greenville, South Carolina, Debbie is the president and founder of DNA Creative Communications, a woman-owned public relations and inspirational marketing firm for nonprofit organizations. Under Debbie’s leadership, in 2010 DNA founded Shine the Light Nonprofit Forums, an annual training program in partnership with the Community Foundation of Greenville, the United Way of Greenville County, and the Hollingsworth Funds.
Debbie and her husband Fred have two grown sons, Chris who lives in Brooklyn, New York and Turner who lives in Charleston. In her spare time, Debbie enjoys walking the Sullivan’s Island beach with her boxers Lily and Gracie, knitting for family and friends, and reading to children at Overbrook Child Development Center.
