Professional Bio

GP has worked in the nonprofit sector in South Carolina for over 15 years, and in 2024 became the first-ever Director of Public Policy & Community Engagement for Together SC where he monitors policy at all levels of government that impact the nonprofit sector, works with nonprofits across the state to engage them in advocacy work, and leads the planning of the SC Nonprofit Summit, the state’s largest nonprofit conference. He is also in his second term as Mayor of Fountain Inn, SC.

Previously, he served as Executive Director of the SC Arts Alliance, a 40+ year-old statewide arts advocacy organization, and a founding organizational member of Together SC. He also helped create and oversaw the City of Mauldin's Office of Cultural Affairs and as Executive Director of the Mauldin Cultural Center, a nonprofit arts center.

GP has served on numerous boards and committees across the state and region. In 2025 he was appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster to the State Workforce Development Board and also represents Together SC on the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond's Rural Investment Collaborative Steering Group. He has been named one of the area’s “50 Most Influential” and “Best and Brightest Under 35” by Greenville Business Magazine.
