About 2024 Nonprofit Summit

Posted By: Shawn Edwards Nonprofit Summit,

Dear Allies for Good,

Community is at the center of our work as nonprofit, philanthropic, and community leaders. Community is why we do what we do.  As servant leaders, we have a duty to uphold equity and amplify community voices.

Yet, when we look across our state, we see that South Carolina’s recent economic growth and prosperity have further increased the existing disparities in our communities.

As we seek to further our work as a sector, understanding and highlighting these inequities become central to our work. That's why centering the community and its voice in our planning, strategy development and implementation is critical to our collective success, making centering community an even more critical component of our work.

That’s why your 2024 Summit Planning Committee, which we are lucky enough to co-chair, has chosen Centering Community as this year’s theme.

Summit sessions will emphasize what it means and what it takes to truly center communities in our work.

We'll look at the powerful ways organizations can learn from and collaborate, leverage resources, and take the lead to ensure that South Carolina's growth benefits all communities.

Sessions will be organized in three tracts: Learn, Leverage and Lead.

Have a lesson to share or resources to provide?  Consider submitting a session proposal by August 18.

You can expect the full Summit program to be announce in September, with registration opening October 1, 2023.

We are honored to help lead the 2024 statewide convening of SC’s Allies For Good and can’t wait to see you in North Charleston, our home, February 21-23, 2024.
