As we begin the celebration of Black Philanthropy Month this August, we’re reminded of the powerful role nonprofits play in driving change and strengthening communities.
Black Philanthropy Month is a nationally coordinated, global effort to uplift, celebrate, and promote African-descent giving in all its forms—from financial contributions to volunteerism, advocacy, and community leadership.
Founded in 2011, this annual observance honors the long-standing traditions of generosity, resilience, solidarity, and justice within Black communities. It’s also a time to spotlight the vital work of Black-led and Black-serving nonprofits across the country and encourage broader support for their missions.
This celebration is the perfect lead-up to National Nonprofit Day on August 17, when we shine a spotlight on nonprofits across South Carolina and beyond. We know #NonprofitsGetItDone — and we want to share your impact!
πΈ Submit a photo and your mission statement so we can feature your work and celebrate your role in building a stronger South Carolina.
