Dear colleagues and changemakers,
As National Nonprofit Day approaches, I want to take a moment to celebrate you—the leaders, advocates, and everyday doers who fuel the heart of our communities. I especially want to uplift the volunteers whose passion and commitment power so many of our missions across South Carolina.
We’d love to hear how you’re activating this special day in your own space. Share your plans or reflections in our Peer Network Discussion Group—you just might spark an idea for someone else!
For those who may not know me yet, I’m Mallory Panuelo, State Lead for Civic Engagement with the United Way Association of South Carolina and the lead for Volunteer SC, our statewide volunteer management platform. This year, I also have the honor of serving as Chair for Together SC’s Volunteer Administration Alliance Peer Network.
This peer network continues the legacy of SCAVA and remains a space where volunteer management professionals can connect, grow, and lead. Whether you’re just getting started in your role or have years of experience behind you, you belong here.
In times marked by uncertainty and change, one thing remains clear: volunteerism matters. Volunteers are a stabilizing force—helping sustain essential services and strengthening the very fabric of our communities.
So, if you haven’t yet, consider joining our growing network. Our Discussion Group is full of thought starters, resource shares, and collaboration. You can also explore Volunteer SC to elevate your recruitment efforts and grow a base of engaged ready-to-serve citizens.
And if you're interested in leadership opportunities within the Volunteer Admin Alliance, we’d love to hear from you! Reach out to desmonies@togethersc.org to learn more.
I’m looking forward to connecting with many of you in the weeks ahead. Let’s continue to champion the spirit of service, together.
