A second chance can depend on things many of us take for granted: a safe place to sleep, an ID, a driver’s license, a way to get to work, or a ride to treatment.
That is the kind of practical, life-changing support Christ City of Refuge is providing in Hartsville. What began with one family opening their farm to people rebuilding after homelessness, addiction, or incarceration has grown into a volunteer-powered nonprofit helping adults find stability, dignity, and a path forward.
In 2025, CCOR provided 28 residents with a safe place to stay, completed 78 transportation runs to rehabilitation facilities across South Carolina, and helped 13 residents reinstate their licenses and purchase their own vehicles.
