Adrien Lake

Adrien Lake is a communications strategist, nonprofit founder, and veteran media professional with more than two decades of experience at the intersection of media, public engagement, and community impact. Known publicly as Vonyetta throughout her radio career, she built a distinguished reputation as a media personality and professional DJ across radio, news, television, and entertainment, becoming one of the region’s most recognized broadcast voices.
Following the tragic loss of her son, Julian, Adrien transformed personal grief into purpose by founding Ju’stice, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing youth gun violence, empowering young people, and supporting families impacted by violent crime. Since its launch, Ju’stice has coordinated multi-agency Anonymous Gun Drop activations with law enforcement partners, helping remove 52 firearms and 3,000 rounds of ammunition from community circulation.
Ju’stice is now preparing to launch the Ju’stice Hotline, a safe reporting space where youth can share concerns and access support related to violence and community safety. Through Phase Two of its Drive the Future initiative, the organization also plans to expand its Anonymous Gun Drop model statewide, followed by a nationwide launch.
Adrien is also Founder & Principal of Nexus Point Strategy Group, a strategic communications and advisory firm that helps organizations navigate complex challenges, align stakeholders, and communicate with clarity during critical moments. The firm specializes in strategic communications, crisis management, public affairs strategy, and community engagement, advising leaders and institutions at the nexus point where strategy, coordination, and solutions meet.
