Professional Bio
Mac retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of United Way of the Midlands in 2017. He has remained active by consulting with Beam & Hinge a regional website design and development company and Capital Development Services a fundraising and executive search firm.
Before joining the team at United Way, Mac served as Executive Director of the Central Carolina Community Foundation in Columbia for 14 years. From 1980 to 1991, Mac held a variety of positions with the University of South Carolina.
Mac is a founding director of TogetherSC (formerly SCANPO) and served as the first chairman of the organization’s Board of Directors. Some of the boards he has served on include TogetherSC, the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (CMRTA), Transitions Homeless Center, The Nord Family Foundation and Central Carolina Community Foundation.
