Debbie is delighted to bring more than 30 years of professional experience and her understanding of nonprofits and their training needs to Together SC’s members. A 30-year resident of Greenville, South Carolina, Debbie is the president and founder of DNA Creative Communications, a woman-owned public relations and inspirational marketing firm for nonprofit organizations. Under Debbie’s leadership, in 2010 DNA founded Shine the Light Nonprofit Forums, an annual leadership training program for nonprofit professionals in partnership with the Community Foundation of Greenville, the United Way of Greenville County, the Hollingsworth Funds, The Graham Foundation and the Jolley Foundation.
Debbie is a graduate of Leadership Greenville, Leadership South Carolina and the Riley Institute’s Diversity Leadership Initiative. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards both locally and statewide.The list includes the Untied Way of Greenville County, the SC Independent Colleges and Universities, Meals on Wheels of Greenville, A Child's Haven and the Greenville Area Development Corporation.
Debbie and her husband Fred have two grown sons, Chris and Turner who both live and work in New York City. When not working with her nonprofit friends, Debbie enjoys traveling with Fred, exploring the Sullivan’s Island beach with her boxers Lily and Gracie, bike riding on the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Greenville and hanging out with her wonderful mentee, Sola.
