Professional Bio

Quinn Hayes is the Program & Grants Manager for Together Women Rise. Her and her family moved here to SC from West Palm Beach, Florida six years ago. Ms. Hayes has an extensive background in advocacy, equity, donor relations, events, health education, chronic disease prevention and management. By means her work, she’s led and been instrumental in getting policies, systems, and environmental changes adopted to help build and foster healthier communities. Though fairly new to South Carolina, Quinn Hayes was named an innovative leader and Community Leadership Corp member by the Obama Foundation in 2018. In her spare time she works with underprivileged youth and young advocates who are passionate about changing health outcomes in her community as well. She serves on many boards as a subject expert, is well-known throughout the community as an educator, master trainer, advocate, and motivational speaker. You also would never guess that she has a freshman in college, writes poetry, ishe speaks Japanese and lived in Japan for four years; where she climbed Mt. Fuji (which by the way takes 7hrs. to climb up and 4 hrs. to climb down the mountain). She is also now the proud Founder & CEO of The Weight of Words, Inc. whose mission is help change the trajectory of trauma by means of the arts. Her nonprofit creates community coloring books, graphic novels, and chapter books. She also helps to facilitates community conversations around belonging, healing, and restorative empowerment. She believes what is lost can be restored.
