Katherine is founder and principal of Coax Strategies, LLC, partnering with organizations to design and deliver projects that strengthen revenue, engagement and impact. She oversees special initiatives for the University of South Carolina's McNair Institute for Entrepreneurism and Free Enterprise.
With twenty years of nonprofit and higher education executive experience, Katherine previously served as executive director of the McNair Center for Entrepreneurism, Women's Business Center and Community Engagement at Columbia College.
Katherine’s previous roles include executive director of Columbia Opportunity Resource and vice president of talent and leadership development for the Columbia Chamber. She also served as membership director for the South Carolina Association of CPAs and the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association.
A graduate of the University of SC (BA, Mass Communications), Katherine earned a Masters of Arts in Organizational Change and Leadership from Columbia College. She is an alum of the Diversity Leaders Initiative of The Riley Institute at Furman University, a graduate of the Non-Profit Leadership Institute at Francis Marion University, is a certified trainer with Kauffman FastTrac and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship and is a 2013 Honorary Graduate of Leadership Columbia. She serves as vice chair of the Richland Library Board of Trustees, is a board member of the Palmetto Center for Women, and is a past board chair for Columbia Opportunity Resource.
Her most important roles are wife of fellow entrepreneur Gregory Hilton (Principal, SOCO and Period 3) and mom to Pascal. They live in historic Earlewood in downtown Columbia, South Carolina.
