The South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce that Stephanie Henkin will be stepping into the role of Executive Director. Stephanie is not new to the foundation, in fact, she is one of our own. She has served as a board member since 2009 and has played an integral part in helping our foundation continue to be successful in supporting those who are currently fighting ovarian cancer as well as offering continued support to the survivors. Stephanie will be responsible for managing our board and volunteer groups. She will serve as the main public contact and spokesperson for the organization, and will represent the foundation in all professional business capacities.
Stephanie and her husband Chad have four girls and two boys ranging in age from twenty to six. Both Stephanie and her husband have a passion for helping others, traveling, watching their children play sports, and spending time with family.
A note from the Director:
I am thrilled to be stepping into this new role of Executive Director for a foundation that I love. I have been touched by this form of cancer in various ways; from the diagnosis, fight, and ultimately the passing of my mother to the knowledge of the presence of the BRCA gene in my sister, to which she decided to stand up to Ovarian cancer and had a complete hysterectomy.
I have seen this foundation touch so many women’s lives since I’ve been a part of it and I want to continue to see it thrive for years to come. I am dedicated to doing all that I can to help support this foundation. I will be working hand in hand with our generous sponsors, numerous volunteers, amazing survivors, and the wonderful women on the board to ensure that the foundation continues to strive to improve the health of women through education on the warning signs of ovarian cancer, support those diagnosed with the disease, and promote ovarian cancer research.
Thank you for trusting me to take on this role and for continuing to support such a powerful foundation. We love what we do and we do it because of you.
Stephanie Henkin, Executive Director
