Columbia, S.C. (April 17, 2017) – Madeleine McGee, president of Together SC, appeared on the South Carolina Business Review radio show with host Mike Switzer. McGee and Switzer discussed how nonprofit leaders should work with volunteer board members and how to deal with executive transitions. The show aired on the SC Public Radio network on Monday, April 17, at 7:51 a.m.

“Board members are critical to the success of any nonprofit organization,” said McGee. “It is important that board members understand their role in supporting the organization’s overall mission and vision.”

McGee also touched on Together SC’s rebranding initiative. Together SC recently changed its name from the South Carolina Association of Nonprofit Organizations during the 2017 SC Nonprofit Summit held last month in Columbia. During the 5-minute conversation with Switzer, McGee shared why organization’s new mission includes a greater emphasis on Together SC’s relationship with businesses, governmental agencies and academic partners.

“With the evolving political climate, we are looking for ways to keep our members educated on the latest issues facing our nonprofit sector,” explained Madeleine. “With increased engagement and learning opportunities for our members, we believe we can do just that.”
